It began the way the best things do — not with a market opportunity, but with a belief.

Carlo Fabbri built a company the old way: through respect for the client, integrity in every decision, and a lifelong fascination with the healing power of the sea. That fascination led him to the work of French biologist-physiologist René Quinton, who had demonstrated something remarkable — that seawater and human blood plasma share a profound compositional similarity. The sea, Quinton argued, is not merely where life evolved. It is life's closest mirror.

This idea took root in the Fabbri household. And it never left.

Carrying his father's vision forward, Dr. Alberto Fabbri made a decision that would define the brand for decades: to specialize entirely in marine cosmetology. Not as a trend, not as a marketing angle — but as a rigorous scientific discipline.

He went deep. He studied the cytoplasmic membrane of algae and its striking parallel to human skin's own defence mechanisms. He examined the osmotic processes of marine organisms and recognized their resonance with human cellular function. He built an argument — supported by science, validated by results — that marine ingredients, when properly extracted and delivered, do not simply sit on the skin. They are recognized by it.

When Carlo Fabbri passed away suddenly in 2002, Dr. Alberto Fabbri did what his father had always modelled: he led with integrity. He reorganized the company, consolidated all operations at the new headquarters in Ozzano dell'Emilia, and refocused the group around what mattered most — the people who use the products and the professionals who apply them.

To this day, Dr. Fabbri refers to his professional clients not as accounts or partners, but as azionisti — shareholders. They are invested in the brand's mission. And the brand is invested in theirs.

Marine biomimetics is the science at the heart of everything Fabbrimarine does.
